Here's a curious thing I am mulling over!
for the last 3 years in a row, I have accidentally cut myself right before Samhain. I am mulling thisd over in my meditations and what this means for me. (btw, sorry about the spelling and punvtuation, but I am temp missing my left index finger, or at least the use of it)
Sacrifice is an important part of my journey with the gods, whether it be in personal challenge, offeringds, or whar seems rto be a new avenue, vlood sacrifice. (withthe b right next to the v, I am typing like a vampire! LOL! Try typing without an index finger, go ahead, I dare ya.)
I have written a published essay on the subject of blood in reference to ritual but this seems now to force me to rethink some of my original supossitions. Especially since I also was diagnosed diabetic this year, and get to poke myself for blood every day now!
(Oh, and then there are the Arizona deer flies that literally take a chunk out of your leg when they bite. being outside in monsoon season means look ing down occasionally to see blood pouring out of my leg. sheesh.)
Anyway, the thing that concerns me most is this cutting thing. Is it perhaps related to the recent study of Mayan deities? Is there a further connections with druidry that involves blood sacrifice?
Chewinf away at the possibiliies......
